We are writing today to provide a statement related to the recent Covid outbreak at Labdara Lithuanian Nursing Home.

All recommended guidelines and directions from Public Health are being followed in order to deal with this extremely infectious virus, to the best of our ability. We have implemented all necessary infection control protocols, screening and safety measures including PPE and increased cleaning and disinfection to reduce spread where possible.

The outbreak of the virus at the Labdara home has infected 2 residents and 2 staff members. There have been no reported Covid related deaths. We know this is difficult news for our families, residents and staff. Our thoughts and prayers remain with everyone who has had a loved one that has been affected by this global pandemic.

The home is in regular contact with families and staff to keep them updated.

We continue to monitor the status on all residents twice daily and provide support to our staff that has been affected with Covid. We are carrying out regular ongoing testing of staff and residents. In absence of a Provincial mandate for staff immunization, the home has implemented daily testing of all staff. We maintain our ongoing efforts with our staff to promote vaccination and encourage uptake.
